Staff protection in healthcare facilities

Staff protection in healthcare facilities

Protection system for staff ensures higher security in healthcare facilities.

  • Works with a badge or a smartwatch

  • Easy and fast warning thanks to a button

  • Geolocation is only activated when the report is made

  • Works indoors and outdoors

Healthcare facilities staff is equipped with a badge or a smartwatch allowing them to ask for help quickly and easily during critical states or danger. Thanks to this solution, warning might be given from the inside and the outside of the facility.

Two possible equipments

The smartwatch

A Sweepin app is installed on the smartwatch, which is equipped with a SIM card and can be used without smartphone. This app includes a button that triggers an action in case of incident : send an alert to the monitoring station, trigger a connected siren or send an emergency SMS to security.

Once the button is triggered, the person is automatically geolocated. Geolocation is only carried out at this point, to protect the privacy of personnel.

Outdoors, geolocation is provided by the watch’s GPS module. Indoors, it’s made possible by the installation of beacons, which require no connection and have an autonomy of 5 years.

The monitoring station receives the alert either via a siren that sounds and lights up, or via the Sweepin control screen, or via notification/SMS.

The badge

Staff are equipped with a rechargeable badge, with a button to send an anti-aggression alert to the security service.

As with watches, staff are geolocated only when the alert is triggered, not all the time.

This solution also works indoors (thanks to Sweepin’s indoor geolocation) and outdoors (thanks to GPS and a SIM card).

For badges to work inside the facility, anchors must be installed and plugged in for infinite autonomy.

Sweepin interface for tag control

The interface for controlling and assigning tags to staff (watches and badges) is accessible from the monitoring station. It is thus possible to see which staff members are equipped with a tag from the interface.

The list of staff is retrieved from the LDAP directory or other similar service. This interface provides details of incidents, all of which are listed.
