Vitaboucle, the new Strasbourg sport app

The Eurometropolis of Strasbourg request

The Eurometropolis of Strasbourg wanted to provide its citizens with a mobile application to promote the Vitaboucle scheme, which has already been in place for several years. This system offers a range of urban physical activity routes, enabling people to discover Strasbourg from a new angle. The aim of the application is to take these different routes and offer them to users according to their needs and desires.

Vitaboucle, Strasbourg’s mobile application

Sweepin has come up with an innovative mobile application featuring a range of essential functions for discovering Strasbourg while getting active.

Users can find all Vitaboucle routes on the mobile application. These routes are accessible in list form, but are first suggested to users according to their desires. When the application is opened, users are given the opportunity to answer questions so that the routes most suited to their desires are proposed to them.

Two route modes are available:

  • Walk mode allows users to follow the route from the phone screen.
  • Sport mode lets you give voice instructions to guide you along the route, without having to look at your phone (while running, for example).

All the information users need is listed on the route cards, such as distance to cover, difficulty and time.

Along the way, users can discover various points of interest, and all relevant information is referenced in the mobile application. Points of interest in the vicinity of users are also highlighted on the app’s home page, to encourage them to visit them.

The Vitaboucle application also provides users with an agenda, listing all the city’s events. Users have access to practical information and can add the events they wish to their personal agenda.

Finally, thanks to this application, the city of Strasbourg can broadcast news to users, who can consult them live from the interface. A notification system also alerts users live to news, events and more.

Vitaboucle benefits

The Vitaboucle app enables users to maintain their health thanks to the many routes on offer. The app offers a new way of discovering the city of Strasbourg, through quiet, pleasant places to spend time alone or with loved ones, calmly or in sport mode.
